Jesus rose from death on the third day. And his resurrected body still bore the nail marks in his hands, feet?

But what if his body had fully decomposed say over a year? And he was resurrected after a year instead of 3 days, would he still have had those scars on him?Jesus rose from death on the third day. And his resurrected body still bore the nail marks in his hands, feet?
you are speculating over something that never would happen, since he fulfilled prophecy by rising to life the 3rd day. maybe a better question would be ';does he still bear the scars for our sins today'; and the answer would probably be yes....Jesus rose from death on the third day. And his resurrected body still bore the nail marks in his hands, feet?
those scars are so when he comes back we will know him you dont have any scars in hand and feet and side and head but we will know him luv dad.
Why do you assume his body would have decomposed?
Jesus dead body was not permitted to decay, and it was resurrected with those marks for a specific reason.

Our bodies will fully decompose once we are through with them, and we will never see them again.

Come Judgment Day, those alive at the moment will instantly be changed, and everyone who had already died will get brand new resurrection bodies matched to their individual human souls.
Zombie Jesus?
And what would this ';What if'; prove? After three days, he would still have wounds not scars. Scars would indicated that the body was healing and therefore not dead...

Although if you accept resurrection, you'd have to accept that the body decomposition was reversed...
That is a silly question, becasue it is purely hypothetical.

The real question is why did he not have the scars on his wrists and ankles? Considering that that is where the nails went when the Romans crucified people.
from a medical standpoint, if a corpse is exhumed after a year without being embalmed, then some trace evidence would still be there , marks on bones etc.but decomposition would be extrema and very difficult top pinpoint any specific non general injuries, a TX screen would reveal higher levels of co2 in lung tissue , hinting at suffocation along with the wound in his side.In my opinion in an uncontrolled and rapid rate of decomposition, there would still be visible signs, but decay would wrack havoc upon the corpse.full decomposition in a drier region occurs slower.there is really no yes or no answer to this question, it would lead me to wager this guess though.the larger and smaller transverse and inverse flex or tendons would still be intact albeit dried out severely, so i would have to say some visible marks could be found.
When he returned it was in his transfigured resurrected body. And he still bore the wounds that were not for him, but for us. He still bears the proof of the price that he paid to bear our sins.

God could have made him appear any way that he wanted to, and He chose to give the disciples physical and visual proof that this is the resurrected Lord that has overcome death. And what a life changing event that was for everyone who witnessed Him.

And the amazing thing to me is that it is still a life changing event for people today. Thank you God!
No, because when he arose, he did it and had a transformed body. Because of this, when we die and arise from the dead in the end, we will be transformed and have a new body.
It seems a bit daft to have the power to rise from death but lack the ability to heal a couple of puncture wounds.
That is a hypothetical question. The Bible clearly states, ';because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.';(Ps. 16:10)

Sure those marks could be healed by Someone who had the power to resurrect but those marks will remain throughout eternity as a reminder to the problem of sin and what it took to remedy it.
